From pizza to pool supplies, here is the latest business and restaurant news in the Northeast San Antonio Metrocom.
Now openHounds Town USA
The business was founded in 2000 by Michael S. Gould, a former New York Police Department and Nassau County Police canine handler, according to the business's website. With locations across the country, Hounds Town USA offers dog and cat boarding services alongside a pet spa.

Smoothie King
Featuring more than 1,350 stores, the smoothie shop first opened its doors in New Orleans in 1973, according to the business's website. The business features a variety of smoothies, smoothie bowls and other health-focused menu items.

Chick-fil-A Supply
Chick-fil-A has opened a new distribution center in the city of Selma. The project broke ground in 2023, and will support Chick-fil-A locations along I-35 and throughout South Texas.

The new eatery offers made-to-order, healthy options, including salads, wraps and breakfast burritos. The drive-thru chain has locations throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Nevada and Arizona.

Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse

FluffButts Pet Grooming
The business offers full-service pet grooming featuring customizable service for cats and dogs. According to the business's website, groomers are certified in CPR and first aid with other certifications.

Mattenga’s Pizzeria
The Cibolo location will be located in a new retail development across from Steele High School and will feature a menu similar to the main location. Mattenga’s offers a variety of pizza, pizza rolls, wings and other menu items.

Dick’s House of Sports
This sports-focused retail space is derived from Dick’s Sporting Goods. The new location will feature a rock climbing wall, batting cages and other amenities to be a one-stop shop for sporting needs.

Starbucks
On June 26, the Starbucks located off FM 3009 closed for renovations. The renovations will turn the location into a military family-style store, which is part of an initiative the company announced in 2023 to highlight stores located near military bases. It is set to reopen Aug. 5.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair merger
Cedar Fair—the parent company of Schlitterbahn—and Six Flags are merging after entering talks last year, creating a combined entity valued at $8 billion. The combined company will operate under the Six Flags name but is expected to maintain park names—such as Schlitterbahn.
bb.q Chicken
bb.q chicken was founded in Seoul, South Korea, in 1995 with the goal of serving Korean fried chicken to the world. Since opening, it has expanded to more than 3,500 locations across the globe. The Live Oak location will be in the former location of Milt’s Pit BBQ.
